Job Title:              Loan Review Specialist and Financial Examiner

JOB SUMMARY

A prestigious funding and mortgage company seeks an experienced and qualified Loan Review Specialist and Financial Examiner who can apply knowledge and judgment to detailed loan analysis in order to provide effective financial services that is tailored specifically to meet the financing needs of our clients. Candidates should have extensive experience with and a strong knowledge of credit assessment, financial accounting, financial reporting, and loans. Each candidate should be detail-oriented and be able to demonstrate his or her excellence in analytical skills, communication skills, prioritization and organization skills, customer service and relationship management skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To apply for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field (foreign equivalent level of education is acceptable);
  • Minimum of one year of accounting or financial services experience;
  • Minimum of two years of loan documentation review and credit risk assessment experience;
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities and ability to perform loan accounting duties in line with established accounting controls to maintain the accuracy and integrity of information in the loan accounting system;
  • Demonstrated ability to perform initial appraisal review of potential borrowers using appropriate appraisal methods and application in compliance with ACG Funding Inc. internal appraisal and evaluation policy and procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability to examine and analyze credit data, credit assessment report and other financial statements and ability to conduct financial statement analysis, financial ratios, risk assessment and account reconciliation, Joint Credit Information Center inquiry, checking account credit inquiry, and on-site credit review;
  • Knowledgeable of and familiar with loan procedures, especially Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae Conventional loan, FHA loan and VA loan, appraisal process, credit report review, W2 & Tax return review;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English and excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including consulting customers, understanding customers’ demands, meeting with colleagues, managers and executives;
  • Demonstrated ability to promote a cooperative and productive work environment and work well within a team environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks, meet the deadlines and work well under pressure;
  • Willingness to commute to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays;
  • Willingness to commute frequently to different chain locations in the U.S.; and
  • Willingness to travel domestically to participate in classes, workshops, or seminars about fair lending issues, fraud, consumer protection, ethics, law and regulations.

JOB DUTIES

  • Consult individual or commercial customers on different types of loans and credit options that are available and explain the terms of those services in order to effectively assist customers to select the best lender, rate and loan amount;
  • Obtain and compile copies of applicants’ credit histories, corporate financial statements, asset, liability, capital account entries and other relevant financial information;
  • Review and examine applicants’ financial and credit information and confer with credit association and other business representatives to verify and ensure accuracy of applicants’ information;
  • Analyze applicants’ credit report, financial statements and financial status using analytics tools and computer programs POINT-Calyx software to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money and feasibility of granting loans;
  • Summarize applicants’ current income status, current assets, loan to value ratio, debt to income ratio (less than 50%) that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money, and submit the reports to CPA for review;
  • Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy;
  • Complete loan application and closing documentation, including credit analysis and summaries of loan requests, and ensure all loans are closed in a timely manner and in accordance with the underwriter’s approval;
  • Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet customers’ needs, as well as new, proposed, or revised laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to interpret their meaning and determine their impact;
  • Investigate activities and recommend actions to ensure financial security and compliance with laws and regulations for systems and process improvements;
  • Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them;
  • Maintain in-house business expenditures, such as service charges, labor costs, and other operational expenses; and
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable and report to our Financial CEO.

Job Type:  Full-Time

Required Experience:  Minimum of three years of accounting or financial services experience; Minimum of two years of loan documentation review and credit risk assessment experience

Required Travel:  Frequent commute to different chain locations in the U.S.; and Occasional domestic travel to participate in classes, workshops, or seminars about fair lending issues, fraud, consumer protection, ethics, law and regulations.
